Big question for the blog leaders, Chirs Bowers, Jerome Armstrong.. etc

This may seem vague, but I've been wondering, how many of 'us' are out there with relation to Democrats as a whole?

The straw poll prompted this questions because Clinton does not do well in this or the DailyKos polls, but she is the presumptive frontrunner.

We weren't able to get Howard Dean past the primaries, hardly any Democrats listen to us and talk about the Iraq war and, Paul Hackett and Louise Slaughter aside, I get this nagging feeling that we are just talking to ourselves.

Anyone know what percentage we are of Democrats?

Who are we? (3.00 / 1)

You refer to "we" as if this place is made up of people that are all the same.  I suspect this is not the case given my personal beliefs despite how much I get from this site.  I like Clinton and believe she would make a great President.  Now that isn't to say that I'm not in the wrong place.  Maybe I'm the odd person out and shouldn't be here.  I hate Republicans at this moment.  I hate the propoganda, the fascism, the nastyness.  I see it both in the leadership and in the general population.  I have a coworker that seems to mimic the style of Hannity at the drop of a hat and he doesn't see anything wrong with it.  Its like they are all clones.  Never the less, I also disagree with the far left on some issues, namely guns.  I luv guns.

Now you may be asking are the percentages of the people with certain views here representative of the Democratic party as a whole.  That is a good question.

Re: Who are we? (none / 0)

Nope.  Not an ideological question.  If you like Clinton then you'd be part of the 9% that voted for her in the straw poll.

"We" refers to the netroots.  How many of us are there?

Btw, I cant be defined as a purist liberal either.  I have no problem with guns, I think that's a state issue since every state has their own culture, and gun-culture at that.  Like NYC, I think our gunlaws make sense for a place where 8 million people are stacked on top of each other in tiny little cube apts (except for rich people that is).

The net roots activists (none / 0)

Most Democrats are no well informed or too busy with their everyday lives.

People who read blogs are people who care about politics, news therefore are more well informed.

Notice it took 3 years for the population or polls to reflect what people in the blogs have been saying about the Iraq War.

Well, it looks like myDD just passed the 10,000th registered user benchmark. If there were about 59,000,000 votes for John Kerry, that means that we represent 0.017% of the Democratic vote. Whooooo!

Na, not talking about that. There are more lurkers than registered members, and the number of visits can often be repeats like me.

I'd like to know what whe represent to the base - the people who turn out and vote in their party's primary. That's a significantly smaller number than those who vote in a presidential election.
