I remember when I first saw Ted Haggard. I was at home with my parents and we were watching the Sunday morning news, a tradition in my household. They were debating something to do with evolution, or abortion or gay marriage or one of those nonsensical things that the Christian Taliban gets all hot and bothered about.

In one of those windows (you know the ones where they have the different window panels with a talking-head in each one) was Ted Haggard. I looked at him and my Gaydar immediately went off. I said, "That guy is gay." To my amazement (not surprise) he was one of the Christian Taliban's talking heads.... even though I thought he was Fire Island FLAMING

Well check this out:

A Denver male hustler claims to have had a pay-for-play relationship for several years with evangelist Ted Haggard - one of the leaders of the move to ban same-sex marriage in Colorado.

What can I say other than I CALLED IT!!

The story gets juicier...

"I've never had a gay relationship with anybody," he told KUSA.

"I am steady with my wife. I'm faithful to my wife. I don't know if this is election-year politics or if this has to do with the marriage amendment or what it is," Haggard said.

But on KHOW radio Thursday Jones accused the evangelist of lying.

"Yes he is (lying)," said Jones. "He had a relationship with me. We had gay sex."

He also claimed to have recorded voicemails and a letter from Haggard, and that he had witnessed Haggard use methamphetamine.

Something smells of Santorum in the land of Christian Nutjobs.

You know, if all the gays out there would just accept it and stop working against us we would be much better off. My head would explode if I really knew how many gays are prominent movers and shakers in the Conservative movement.

I say, BRING 'EM ALL DOWN!

A tele-vangelist set off your gay-dar? Do tell.

Are there any who are not setting off your sensors?

I hate to generallize about an entire class of people (in my youth i was disturbed by the sport of sexual.assignment.by.committee whether the noise was coming from the the geeks freaks or jocks.) But for televangelists/circuit riders I'll make an exception

Have you seen the hairstyles (http://www.deceptioninthechurch.com/hinn .jpg)
on some of these guys?...and the odd sweaters?...and the occassional goateed gomer fixated on the priestly garments of Old Testament Israel.

I don't know if it all points to the supressed gay, but it certainly points to the wrong.

Televangelists and "damnation cicuit" types are a species unto themselves and are quite apart from true christians or even the lost sheep they shamelessly exploit.

I would think twice before turning my cheeks to them.

Well I'm gay if that makes any difference. And let me tell you, when I saw him on TV, BEFORE they put that caption on the bottom of the screen saying who he was, I thought he was gay.

It hit me like a truck.

Sometimes you just have to go with your gut.

I guess that my gut tells me that most tele-vangelist are a fiction of their own construction. More so than the population at large and even moreso than the sub-set of "people on the tv".
